Job Summary
An operating room technician assists a surgeon during invasive procedures. Ensuring the operating suite is prepared and adequately stocked with instruments and supplies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of surgical instruments for cleaning and sterilization
- Monitoring of par levels of surgical instruments and supplies
- Assistance to the RN in maintaining a safe environment for patients
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program
- Certification as a Surgical Tech within 6 months of hire date
- American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Code BLS certification required
- Ability to read, communicate effectively in English and work effectively as a member of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
- One year of work experience in a hospital or surgery setting
- Basic computer knowledge and technical skills related to the certified surgical technician position
