Job Purpose:

We are seeking highly motivated and experienced Remote Support Professionals to join our team of dedicated care and support specialists. As a Remote Support Professional within our call center you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, personalized care and support to individuals, particularly those who are aging and with intellectual and developmental disabilities, for activities of daily living and various health outcomes. Ideal Candidates will have a strong background and passion for serving Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities and Aging in Place utilizing technology to support independence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Perform all the duties of a Direct Support Professional with the use of technology and sensor system to support independence.
  • Provide remote assistance across multiple locations to persons living independently who are utilizing SimplyHome systems or technology.
  • Multi-task to ensure Remote Support Professional duties are performed adequately while also providing quality oversight and remote support to persons receiving Remote Services and Enabling Technology Support.
  • Observe alerts and exterior cameras at multiple locations to ensure the safety and well-being of persons supported while also fostering privacy, independence, and dignity.
  • Support people to live a self-directed life.
  • Communicate closely with Remote Services Manager, and Remote Team Members about individual’s needs, concerns, and technology issues as they occur. Function as an active member of the Simply Home team, stakeholders and the Circle of Support. Engage in group decision making, keep team members informed, be involved in open sharing of ideas and collaboration.
  • Communicate with staff at all shift changes.
  • Responsible for documentation related to Remote Support Service as it occurs.
  • Assess a variety of situations and be able to respond appropriately, determining the most appropriate course of action.
  • Utilize person-centered practices and procedures.
  • Responsible for implementation of all Support and Technology Plans for Approved Individuals.
  • Maintain relationships with all persons being supported.
  • Support SimplyHome mission, vision, core values, culture and person-centered practices.
  • Exercise necessary cost control measures.
  • Maintain positive internal and external Communications.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills by conveying necessary information accurately, listening effectively and asking questions when clarification is needed.
  • Plan and organize work effectively and ensure its completion.
  • Demonstrate reliability, punctuality and utilizing effective management skills.
  • Demonstrate and promote a team orientated approach.
  • Represent SimplyHome professionally at all times.
  • Demonstrate initiative and strive to continually improve processes and relationships.
  • Follow all company and call center rules, policies and procedures as well as any applicable laws and standards.

Qualifications/Requirements, Desired Skills/Traits: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.

  • Familiarity with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and virtual meeting tools is required.
  • Welcoming, personable, and professional demeanor.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Motivated to learn about smart home technologies and applications.
  • Familiarity and an interest in the Internet of Things (IoT) and applications.
  • Adept at critical thinking and problem solving.
  • Demonstrates patience, empathy, and understanding, particularly with individuals with differing abilities.

  • Desire to learn and be innovative.
  • Able to handle a variety of tasks.
  • Works well on a team and as an independent worker.

This is an in-person, hourly position offering up to a 40-hour work week as available. Pay is based on experience. This is a dog-friendly environment.

Education/Experience:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent (minimum)

Valid driver license

Clean background check

Obtain and maintain SHIFT credentialing as ET-Certified or ETIS within the first 90 days of Employment.

Obtain and maintain Person Centered Practices Certification within the first 90 days of Employment.

Experience supporting Aging Population, people with disabilities and/or Mental Health.
