Experience:
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (Required)
- Must maintain licensure in State of Mississippi as a Medical Radiation technologist (Required)
- Must complete 24 hours of continuing education as approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist every 2 years
- Proficient in CT scanning (preferred)
Education:
- Certification and/or diploma from an accredited school of Radiologic Technologists (Required)
Schedule:
- As Needed
- Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, days/nights

Position Summary:
To provide patient care and technical skills in the operation of diagnostic radiographic equipment for diagnostic and evaluation purposes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Utilize technical skills in the operation of radiographic equipment to obtain diagnostic quality images according to pre-established guidelines.
- Follow instructions from physicians regarding which area of the patient's body needs imaging.
- Talk the patient through the procedure and answer questions to lower their anxiety.
- Correctly position the patient, adjust the imaging equipment to the specified position.
- Prevent unnecessary radiation exposure both to themselves and to the patient.
- Follow correct techniques and procedures such as patient shielding.
- Maintain radiology supply inventory by checking stock, anticipating future needs and placing orders.
- Schedule and observe time-management techniques according to departmental productivity and efficiency standards.
- Send images to PACS for Radiologist interpretations
- Document in the patients' chart in a timely manner
- Subject to irregular hours.
- May be required to wear personal protective equipment as directed.
- Follow infection control and isolation guidelines.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
