Job Summary
The supervisor oversees and coordinates the activities of workers engaged in operating machines that process (screen, sort, separate, and bale) recyclable materials.
Major Job Responsibilities
- Observes sorting, equipment operation, processing, and packaging operations for conformance to the company’s specifications
- Review production schedules and confer with the supervisor staff to plan shift operations
- Assign duties to workers according to production schedules and demonstrate safe and efficient use of equipment
- Inspect machinery and equipment to verify conformance to production standards; prepare time, attendance and production reports
- Run, schedule, and ensure all metrics are being met daily
- Delegate and monitor workers in completion of tasks and schedules
- Lead process and/or quality teams on improving workflow and quality
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Prior experience working in an industrial setting, such as recycling, is highly preferred!
- At least 3 years of manager or supervisory experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Physical ability to perform heavy labor
- Mechanical aptitude
