PARTS PAINTER

ACCOUNTABILITY
The following summarizes the key job accountabilities to be performed by the paint prep tech in the respective assigned job function/area:
PREP AND PAINT TO PRINT:
- Ability to read customer supplied specifications and follow job related assembly instructions and diagrams to
- Mask and prepare items for paint.
- Ability to work with and paint small parts
- Ability to operate HVLP paint gun
- Ability to operate Airbrush paint gun
- Mask and tape components as necessary to prevent paint overspray and allow for multiple color application.
- Sanding and polish as required to remove old paint and other surface materials that may interfere with paint application.
- Fill surface imperfections with specified material and sand as appropriate to promote smooth finish.
- Have an extreme level of detail with strong quality and productivity orientation.
- Demonstrated positive attitude and team work orientation.
- Strong technical, analytical, problem solving, communication, and relationship management skills.
SUMMARY:
As a Simtek Paint Prep Technician you will be responsible to prepare initial surface materials and other detailed work operations required to be completed in this area of specialization.
Products to be painted include high fidelity simulated training components used in Military and Commercial flight simulators. Product line includes, simulated Instrument gauges, Control Panels, and Multifunction
LCD displays.
In addition, preparing and painting small piece parts used in the sub-assemblies of its products. The role is also accountable for; meeting and exceeding companywide expectations in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, attendance, attitude/teamwork, cross training in all areas of operations as required, and other tasks and duties outside primary job function as assigned by management.
PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Experience in part preparation prior to paint
Use of HVLP equipment a plus.
Air brush experience a plus
Will train
