The Environmental Health Safety & Sustainability (EHS&S) Technician is a key member of a high-performance team responsible for supporting daily manufacturing operations and EHS compliance activities in an aseptic pharmaceutical environment. This position reports to the Associate Director of Environmental Health Safety & Sustainability and is 100% onsite at the Bloomington, Indiana facility.

This role:
The Environmental Health Safety & Sustainability (EHS&S) Technician is a key member of a high-performance team responsible for supporting daily manufacturing operations and EHS compliance activities in an aseptic pharmaceutical environment. This position reports to the Associate Director of Environmental Health Safety & Sustainability and is 100% onsite at the Bloomington, Indiana facility.
The responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections and audits of all waste storage and management areas
- Coordinate hazardous and non-hazardous waste handling and transportation from satellite waste storage areas and prepare waste storage areas for off-site shipment
- Track waste generation, maintain inventory of waste related items such as spill kits, waste drums etc. and work with EHS&S Manager and waste vendor to schedule waste shipments
- Respond to hazardous and non-hazardous spills in the manufacturing areas, mechanical spaces, and laboratories
- Conduct EHS&S inspections
- Assist in maintaining appropriate equipment documentation and change control according to internal procedures
- AS degree (in lieu of AS degree, HS diploma and 5 years experience)
- 3 years experience in a manufacturing setting
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Knowledge and ability to learn and use enterprise software (Dynamics 365, Veeva, Maximo, etc.)
- Must be able to lift, push/pull, and carry up to 50 pounds
- May be required to stand for over 4 hours per day
- Must be able to lift 20 pounds overhead
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment, including respirator
- Duties may require overtime work, including nights and weekends
