Job Title: Safety Coordinator - Bilingual
Job Summary: The Safety Coordinator will support the implementation and maintenance of safety-driven practices at assigned project job sites and/or divisions. This role involves coordinating safety, health, and environmental protection programs to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with safety regulations in a construction and excavation environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in executing approved safety programs and promoting a culture of safety.
- Deliver and facilitate safety training, including new employee orientations and ongoing education.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities, machinery, and equipment to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Coordinate the investigation of incidents, accidents, and near-misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Support the installation and maintenance of safety devices and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Monitor compliance with safety regulations, policies, and procedures, providing recommendations for improvement.
- Maintain documentation and reporting for safety audits, incidents, and compliance requirements.
- Act as a liaison with third-party providers, including insurance and medical care teams, as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
- 2 years of experience in safety coordination or related roles in construction or general industry.
- Familiarity with OSHA and/or MSHA regulations.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to deliver presentations and training sessions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Bilingual – English and Spanish, required.
- Associate’s degree in occupational safety or a related field, or equivalent experience.
