POSITION SUMMARY
Sinai Akiba Academy seeks a proactive, dynamic, and creative individual who loves technology and enjoys working with people. The IT Help Desk Technician supports end users, including Staffulty, Administration, and students by addressing technical support requests in a timely and effective manner. Collaborating with the Systems Administrator and the Director of Technology & Innovation, the Technician evaluates, maintains, and updates the school’s technological infrastructure.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Support
- Prioritize, troubleshoot, resolve, escalate, and respond to user requests via the Zendesk Ticketing System.
- Provide software and hardware technical support to instructional staff, both inside and outside classrooms.
- Assist students and staff in the use of instructional materials and technology resources.
Technology Maintenance and Operations
- Operate and maintain devices including PC/Mac/Google/Android/Chromebooks, Chrome platforms, video cameras, iPads, scanners, copiers, printers, and other peripheral equipment.
- Perform basic repairs and installations for wired and wireless networks.
- Perform preventative maintenance on technology equipment and arrange for repairs as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment and repairs.
Classroom and Event Support
- Provide classroom technology support, including projectors, document cameras, SMARTBoards, printers, and web services.
- Assist with multimedia setups, such as presentation systems, cable television hookups, and video broadcast systems.
- Provide A/V support for school events and ensure all technology is operational.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain documentation for network, user applications, and software.
- Prepare and submit work orders as needed.
General Responsibilities
- Reset passwords, create new accounts, and assist with network troubleshooting.
- Assist with database management and ensure accurate data input and retrieval.
- Work with the Tech Team to identify trends and proactively implement solutions.
- Ensure ethical handling of programs and stored information.
SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as relief receptionist and assist office personnel with overflow work as needed.

- Complete additional tasks in support of Sinai Akiba’s mission, as directed by the Director of Technology & Innovation, and/or Head of School.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience. Technical school graduates with an emphasis on network support or computer systems repair are also considered.
- Minimum of three years of experience as a Service Technician or in a related role.
- Authorized (certified) technician experience with Lenovo, Microsoft, or Apple (iPad/iOS/Mac/ACMT preferred).
- Technical certifications such as Google IT Support, CompTIA A , N , S , MCSA, MCSE, CMNO/CMNA/CCNA are a plus.
- Network infrastructure, hardware, and software systems.
- Troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance procedures for computer systems, software, and peripherals.
- Instructional methods and techniques, as well as safe practices in a school environment.
- Remote network management operations and Internet access.
- Software applications, including Blackbaud, Zendesk, 1Password, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office and 365, and Adobe.
- Axess Managed Print Services
- Record-keeping and data management practices. Diagnose and resolve network problems.
- Experience in K-12 educational settings is desirable.
- Excellent Interpersonal communication skills with students, staff, and the school community.
- Plan, schedule, and prioritize work effectively to meet deadlines.
- Maintain confidentiality and a professional demeanor.
- Lift up to 50 lbs and navigate stairs.
- Ability to work on campus weekdays 7:30AM – 4:30PM, and as needed to support school events.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- Hourly Rate Range: $25.00 - $30.00.

In the spirit of pay transparency we share the hourly rate range for this position: $25.00 - $30.00. The hourly rate range is exclusive of fringe benefits, retirement plan employer contributions or potential stipends (for eligible employees). Pay ranges at SAA are reasonable estimates of what the School anticipates paying for a role but are not guaranteed. If hired at SAA, your final hourly rate will be determined by factors such as skills, education, experience, job level, part-time status and number of months of work per academic year. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity with our current employees as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full hourly rate range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical for SAA in order to allow for future and continued hourly rate growth.
