GENERAL SUMMARY/BASIC PURPOSE OF JOB:
The Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) will primarily focus on working with clients that have a substance use diagnosis to enhance their recovery. The CRSS will be responsible for providing substance use and behavioral health support and coordinated care for clients with substance use diagnoses. Ensures enhanced patient engagement by addressing barriers to care, increasing patient motivation, and establishing professional, dynamic relationships with patients, providers, referral sources and other involved parties.
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in social sciences preferred
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Must be culturally competent.
- Bilingual Spanish is preferred
- Openly self-identifies as a person who has experience of using/ has used substance use or mental health services when appropriate (MISA)
REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:
- HS Diploma or GED
- CADC preferred, but not required
- Certification as Certified Recovery Support Specialist(CRSS) preferred or within 2 years of hire
