Position Purpose:
The Lead Electrician provides HVAC services with specific responsibility for identifying repair and/or replacement needs such as: installing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading HVAC systems and equipment. This position also assists other skilled trades.
Education and Work Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Certificate from an approved certificate from an approved HVAC apprenticeship program retreat school required.
- Two or more years of related work experience required.
- Previous experience in a hospital setting preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to read and comprehend blueprints. Must possess understanding and knowledge of the Joint Commission environment of care standards, Illinois Department of public health building code requirements, and other applicable federal, state, and local building code requirements for a hospital. Work requires operation or use of the following tools and equipment: standard hand or electrically operated tools, construction equipment, and other portable tools.
Certifications/Licenses:
- EPA certification
- Valid driver’s license
