Job Title: Registry Pharmacy Technician – IV Compounding (Weekend Coverage)
Job Summary: We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Registry Pharmacy Technician with sterile compounding (IV) experience to support weekend operations in our inpatient pharmacy. This PRN (as-needed) position is ideal for experienced technicians who are looking for flexible, part-time work while contributing to high-quality patient care in a hospital setting. This technician will play a vital role in ensuring safe and timely preparation and delivery of medications—particularly sterile products—while helping relieve workload on full-time staff during weekends and high-demand periods.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare IV medications using aseptic techniques in compliance with USP 797/800 standards. Accurately compound sterile and non-sterile products as assigned. Deliver medications and restock automated dispensing machines (Omnicell) across patient care units. Perform inventory management and floor stock replenishment. Collaborate with pharmacists and other technicians to maintain smooth and efficient weekend workflows. Ensure all cleanroom logs, documentation, and regulatory requirements are properly maintained.
Minimum Qualifications: Active Illinois Pharmacy Technician License in good standing. Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) – PTCB certification required.
Sterile compounding (IV) experience required. Hospital pharmacy experience preferred. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and follow standard operating procedures. Schedule Requirements: Must be available to work weekends (Saturday and/or Sunday). May be asked to work select holidays, PTO, or call-off coverage.
Must meet the minimum registry requirement of 6 shifts per 6-week period. PRN/registry role – no guaranteed hours.
