Job Details
Neuro Med / Surg Tele Nurse Need :
3South is a Med / Surg Telemetry Certified Stroke Center as well as a Level IV Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU).
While most patients have a neuro-related diagnosis 3S also serves as a telemetry overflow unit for other patient populations which allows the nurse to practice skills other than neuro.
Job Requirements
Neurology experience
MS / Tele experience
Basic EKG testing required and provided by the agency through Prophecy Relias. This exam must be successfully completed before the nurse can attend Orientation.
Schedule Information
Every other weekend and holiday.
36hrs per week guaranteed.
Can offer longer contracts.
Can and will be pulled to other units to support hospital needs.

Check under “Other ”and “Additional Skills”Stroke Contact Hours : If Traveler does not have any prior Stroke CEUs on file, these must be completed prior to start.If Traveler has Stroke CEUs that have expired on file, they may start with Stroke CEUs pending. To be completed within a week of start.All Stroke CEUs must be renewed annually.MUST be stroke-related. Please refer to “Acceptable Stroke CEUs” Doc in Sharepoint.
NIHSS Counts towards the annual requirement if completed within the year. (NIHSS is typically worth 2 hours - Traveler will need to complete additional stroke credit hours to complete the full 4 or 8 hours required).Trauma CEUs : Required after 27th week of work – usually at time of an EXT.This requirement is two parts.1st : Traveler must complete a 16-hour Trauma course. The Insult to Result Trauma course can be completed via Healthstream while on-site at LBH.TNCC also covers this requirement.Insult to result course expires after 1 year. Follow TNCC Certification for appropriate expiration date.2nd : Once the 16 -hour course expires, additional Trauma CEU hours are required ad must be renewed annually. – Please see UD to see if / how many required.MUST be Trauma-related.
