Job Summary

As the Director of Sales, you play a pivotal role in driving revenue and ensuring the success of our hotel. Your responsibilities encompass strategic planning, leading sales efforts, managing client relationships, and developing new business opportunities to achieve sales targets and elevate our hotel's market position. In addition, this individual shall be well-versed on hotel-brand standards, guest expectations and local area / businesses. This position reports to the General Manager.

Your day-to-day

The Essential Functions, Job Responsibilities, and Supervisory Responsibilities for this position make up your day-to-day. They include the following tasks below :

  • Essential Functions
  • Warmly and professionally welcomes all guests and ensures quality check-in and checkout experience.

  • Utilize a "hands-on" approach to build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, corporate accounts, and industry partners.; as well as securing, qualifying, and following up on leads to book new clients.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities and proactively address client needs and concerns to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Conduct regular market analysis to identify new business opportunities.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and competitor activities to inform sales strategies.
  • Oversee or carry out the development of effective sales collateral and presentations.
  • Create and equip yourself with compelling materials to showcase the hotel's offerings.
  • Ensure professionally and timely written correspondence, proposals, bids, and follow-up.
  • Answers calls, texts, and emails as appropriate; responding to each inquiry in a timely manner.
  • Maintains and updates accurate records using the hotel systems and sales systems, such as the PMS and CRM systems.
  • Promptly and effectively handles guest requests and complaints with professionalism, tact, and a courteous manner, seeking solutions that align with the hotel's policies.
  • Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue goals.

  • Identify market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to inform sales approaches.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance against targets and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Assign duties to staff and provide training or other assistance to ensure consistency with regard to hotel policies, operations procedures, safety standards, and quality service.
  • Attend regular team meetings to communicate updates, share feedback, and address any issues.
  • Implement initiatives to position the hotel as a leader in the market.
  • Monitoring of rooms inventory, availability, and rates.
  • Quickly establish rapport with guests to create memorable moments.
  • Receives and resolves, or assists in resolving, escalated guest complaints and employee issues.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Help coordinate and oversee all department operations, ensuring quality service is provided within the established business plan and budget.

  • Provide training or guidance to the team to ensure consistency and care with regard to sales practices, lead generation, and fulfilling sales promises.
  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new sales staff.
  • Oversees the daily operations and scheduling of the department.
  • Oversees their direct reports performance and provides constructive and timely feedback and evaluations.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with hotel policy.

  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's (Preferred)
  • Brand Experience (Preferred)
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • 2-3 years of proven experience within the hospitality industry
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Schedule

  • 8 hour shifts, Monday to Friday
  • Must be able to travel, up to 50%
  • Occasionally be available to work on evenings and weekends
