Job Description
Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. is seeking a proactive and experienced Regional Director of Engineering to oversee the operation and maintenance of our stations and equipment in the Mid-West region.
About the Role
- Responsible for all station technical equipment and related infrastructure, including high power digital transmitters, microwave equipment, in-house computer networking, and news-related equipment.
- Manage and oversee a dynamic engineering staff, ensuring compliance with specific FCC rules and regulations.
- Oversee on-air operation of stations and transmitters, maintaining buildings and company-owned sites.
Requirements
- In-depth knowledge of digital and analog technologies used in broadcast environments.
- Complete understanding of IT networks, high power VHF and UHF transmitters, broadcast equipment, and microwave RF technology.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in TV broadcast engineering, including studio and transmitter facility maintenance, planning and execution of capital projects, news production, and on-air operations.
- Knowledge of studio equipment, station automation, and Avid News systems is a plus.
- Thorough working knowledge of all building systems and compliance standards for governmental and industry regulations.
- Minimum 7 years' experience managing an engineering staff.
- Preferred: degree in a technically related field or equivalent work experience.
