Job Description
WSYX / WTTE Columbus, Ohio is seeking a Broadcast / IT Engineer. This position involves maintaining broadcast equipment, computers and servers related to television transmission and video automation systems, as well as business-side workstations. The candidate will be directly responsible for hands-on support of modern broadcast and IT equipment.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- Maintain and repair cameras, video production switchers, audio equipment, video routers, automation / editing systems, video server systems, graphic systems, display systems, fiber networks, and satellite receivers.
- Provide support in the management of servers, network security, and network services
- PC hardware / software support of on-site installation, service, troubleshooting, and repairing of workstations
- Provide support for the technical needs of the News Department
- Provide first response support as needed to maintain live news broadcasts
- Assist with video equipment set-up and maintenance
- Assist with LAN and WAN related hardware and software maintenance
- Apply regular security updates
- Perform physical inventory of equipment
- Assist in fleet management
- Assist in media management
- Assist in building maintenance and scheduling of maintenance
- Help maintain digital telephone system
- Other duties may be assigned
