The purpose of a Professional Tutor for the Advanced Job Training program is to provide tutoring and skill-building services for students individually, in small-group sessions, and/or in the academic labs in different subject areas. Professional Tutors are also required to participate in department training and other professional development opportunities to maintain a knowledge of their subject area(s) and current teaching methods.
This position will provide in-person professional tutoring services to students either individually, in group sessions, or in the labs at the Ohio Reformatory for Women in Marysville, Ohio.

This search is specifically for Writing/Composition (ENG 1101), Business Math (MAT 1120), and Introduction to Software Applications (BIS 1120).

Principal Accountabilities
- Provide individual tutoring, small group tutoring, and/or lab tutoring for incarcerated Sinclair Community College students
- Participate in department training and other professional development opportunities to maintain a knowledge of subject area(s) and current teaching methods
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred
- One year of previous tutoring or teaching experience is preference with a preference in working with an incarcerated and diverse student population
- Ability to demonstrate a high level of skill with communication, patience, problem solving, listening, dependability, teaching, leadership, and adaptability needed to serve students is required
- Familiarity with Zoom and Microsoft Outlook preferred
