The Transfer Specialist is a key position to improving transfer support for bachelor’s seeking students. This position will be responsible for developing and implementing a case management system for transfer students that includes career assessments, tracking academic milestones and providing continuous outreach and support.
The Transfer Specialist will assist in the development and facilitation of workshops that ensure a smooth transition for transfer students by guiding them through the exploration and decision-making process of selecting a transfer destination. This position will work collaboratively with other Transfer Center staff to provide students with consistent and accurate information as well as support the Director of University Partnerships in the planning of university partner/career focused transfer events.
The salary for this position begins at $57,344.00 and is determined commensurate with education and experience. This position is grant funded and contingent upon the funding associated with the respective grant.

Principal Accountabilities
- Accurately interpret, apply, and communicate transfer information to students
- Maintain transfer caseloads and document student interactions in SSP
- Schedule and complete transfer coaching meetings at prescribed pathway milestones
- Collaborates with Academic Advising, Financial Aid and Academic Departments to ensure accuracy of transfer pathway information
- Collect and analyze transfer student data to determine the effectiveness of programming and case management
- Collaborate with Business Analyst for the Division of Student Development to conduct focus groups/surveys to determine student satisfaction with new transfer support services
- Serve as a contributing member to the Operationalizing Transfer Support and Technical Implementation work teams associated with the Title III Grant
Requirements
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree with at least 1 year of higher education experience required; master’s degree in higher education, counseling, student personnel services, education, or an area related to post-secondary advising/coaching preferred
- Minimum 2 years of professional work experience in education, secondary school counseling, curriculum, student affairs, or related field required
- Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills, customer service and presentation skills required
- Experience in interpreting transfer policies and academic pathways required
- Demonstrated knowledge in program development, including workshop or program planning skills required
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and accomplish multiple tasks simultaneously required
- Strong computer and technology skills, experience with using various software applications required
