What are the responsibilities and job description for the News Video Editor- DC Bureau position at Sinclair Inc.?
Sinclair Broadcast Group's Capitol Hill bureau has an opening for a News Video Editor. The ideal candidate is a creative visual storyteller who will be able to juggle projects and be able to handle multiple deadlines per week. You will cover day to day general, in-depth, features and investigative assignments, especially issues involving Congress and the White House.
Responsibilities will involve editing video for broadcast and digital platforms. You should have strong editing skills in non-linear edit systems, experience implementing creative graphics and the ability to work efficiently under deadline pressure. You should possess excellent people skills, a strong work ethic and have a great attitude. A passion for story telling is essential in this position.
Requirements:
- • At least three (3) years of video editing experience required
- • Experience editing broadcast news packages under daily deadlines is preferred
- • Experience with non-linear editing systems like AVID, Adobe Premiere, or Final Cut Pro
- • Basic graphics skills
- • Strong interest in news
- • Be an aggressive team-player who can produce great stories under tight deadlines
- • Technical knowledge of editing and video equipment is required
- • Ability to execute during breaking news events
- • Ability to demonstrate creativity in storytelling
- • Ability to work under deadline and on a flexible schedule is required, including some nights and weekends when breaking news warrants
