Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Sales/Will Call Counter Representative to join our team. In this role, you will be the front line for customer interactions, ensuring smooth and efficient service at the counter while leveraging your P21 experience to accurately process orders and provide product recommendations. The ideal candidate will have strong product knowledge, experience in the industrial parts industry, and proficiency in using P21 for order processing and inventory management.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide counter sales support by assisting walk-in customers with product orders, will call pickups, and providing product knowledge.
- Assemble accurate quotes and enter orders for customers into the P21 system.
- Handle inbound customer calls to answer product inquiries, provide quotes, and process orders.
- Ensure customer contact information is accurate and up-to-date in the system.
- Make pricing decisions and obtain necessary approvals for orders and quotes.
- Manage order fulfillment, including coordinating deliveries and providing order status updates to customers.
- Follow up on quotes, orders, and opportunities to ensure customer satisfaction and maintain relationships.
- Build rapport with customers, proactively offering additional products and services to increase sales.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and customer-friendly counter area.
- Collaborate with the sales manager and general manager to review monthly performance and set goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support team objectives.
- Demonstrate a willingness to continuously learn and grow within the company.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a sales or counter service role within the manufacturing or industrial parts industry.
- Strong product knowledge and the ability to provide solutions based on customer needs.
- Proficient in using P21 (or similar systems) for order entry, inventory management, and customer management.
- Intermediate computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to engage with customers in a professional and friendly manner.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently while managing competing priorities and handling a fast-paced work environment.
- Prior inside sales experience is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
