There are a lot of Jobs on Indeed, but few are real "Opportunities". This job is a potential career maker. We run hotels, a lot of them, and the job we are hiring for is not adequately described in one or two words. We are looking for a hard working individual, one that gets along and works well with others. Someone that is good with numbers, eager to learn new tasks, naturally curious, and is a generally happy person that understands the meaning of the words 'service' and 'hospitality'.
The job includes admin work, accounting, payroll and some clerical. We will provide the training to the right candidate. It is truly entry level, and the person with curiosity, intellect and a sense of teamwork is who we are looking for. Everything else can be taught.
We are replacing a person who has gotten married and moving away. Our loss. In the next 2 offices are people who started in this job and got promoted to their current position. You'll be answering to the Company Controller, who also started in this same job. When we say 'career opportunity', and 'promotion from within', we mean it.
People who like putting labels on staplers that say "Accounting only" and love forcing others to follow their rules are probably the wrong people for the job. We are serving the people who serve our guests, we are here to help. We are making sure payroll is done correctly and our team members are paid on time, correctly, and have a complete understanding of their benefits.
There are a lot of bullet points I could write about the job responsibilities, but the important things to know is that we will provide the training. It helps if you have knowledge of Excel, QuickBooks or Paychex, but at the end of the day we are a small (10 person) office, and we'd all rather work along side someone who is cool to get along with but needs some mentoring, than to have to work with someone with a ton of experience but not a pound of kindness and decency. It would be great if you have a service or hospitality background, but again this is secondary to being someone who likes a challenge and is willing to work along side of some of the best people in the world.
