Position Title : Public Relations Assistant

Location : Raleigh, NC

Employment Type : Full-Time

Reports To : Public Relations Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Public Relations Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will support the Public Relations department in executing campaigns, managing media relations, and promoting a positive image of the organization. The ideal candidate is organized, a strong communicator, and passionate about building relationships with media and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Media Relations :

Assist in drafting press releases, media pitches, and other communication materials.

  • Maintain and update media contact lists and databases.
  • Coordinate media outreach efforts and monitor responses.
  • Track and compile media coverage to assess the effectiveness of PR campaigns.

Event Support :

Assist in organizing press events, conferences, and public appearances.

  • Handle logistics, schedules, and materials for events.
  • Research and Analysis :

    Monitor industry trends, competitors, and news coverage relevant to the organization.

  • Provide insights and recommendations to enhance PR strategies.
  • Administrative Duties :

    Schedule and coordinate meetings with media representatives and stakeholders.

  • Handle correspondence and maintain organized PR records and files.
  • Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in PR, communications, or a related role (internships acceptable).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with media monitoring tools.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and digital marketing strategies.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented, creative, and proactive in problem-solving.
