What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recovery Support Supervisor position at Sinnissippi Centers?
Sinnissippi Centers is seeking a Supervisor of Recovery Support Services to oversee and supervise our Recovery Support staff. This role works with their team to guide, coach, teach and listen as they work in supportive roles with our clients. The Recovery Support Services teams work with clients so that they may experience new ways of thinking, develop positive relationships, and realize a better life.
This supervisor role supports supervisors and clients by providing recovery-oriented, person-centered, and trauma informed services; serve as an advocate; and provide information and support for Peer staff and individuals seeking treatment at SCI. The RSS team perform a wide range of tasks to assist individuals (receiving services) in the recovery process and to reclaim their lives from mental illness. The RSS will possess the skills to maintain a high level of professionalism, ethics, and positive interactions. In addition, the RSS will help to increase wellness and recovery education and stigma reduction through the state of Illinois, in targeted communities, and at SCI.
BASIC DUTIES:
- Commitment and ability to practice within the domains and ethics of the CRSS (certified recovery support specialist)
- Communicate with members of the outpatient team when appropriate and needed for appropriate consumer care
- Support for choice by the persons receiving services (individuals)
- Educate individuals on wellness and recovery supports
- Educate individuals on how to make treatment work for them and their choices in the recovery process
- Advocate for individuals using professionalism and non-adversarial approaches
- Be aware of and take appropriate action with high-risk indicators/suicidal and homicidal ideations.
- Willingness, ability, and commitment to serving as a role model for Recovery.
- Facilitate group and individual sessions
- Increase group services in all offices
- Monitor the CRSS training track each year and adjust the calendar accordingly
- Awareness of Recovery planning needs and development.
Recovery Support team members require a Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) credentials and can work with clients and staff while working toward being certified.
Salary range starts at - $51,405 DOE/Year

Requirements
Your personal experience with behavioral health services is an important skill you bring to this position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Lived experience as a consumer of mental health services
- Supervisory/Management Experience preferred
- Lived experience as a consumer of mental health services
- Experience either as a consumer of or facilitator of groups
- Teaching skills, non-judgmental personality, and empathic listening skills.
- Current CRSS or desire to pursue CRSS state certification; willingness to acquire CRSS state certification while on the job.
- WRAP Certification or Desire to pursue WRAP Certificate
- Ability to pass pre-employment background checks
