Job Description
The HR Generalist will be responsible for overseeing employee relations, performance management, compensation & benefits, and legal compliance. This role will serve as a key HR partner, working closely with employees and management to enhance workplace policies, support employee growth, and ensure adherence to employment laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Employee Relations
- Act as the primary point of contact for employee concerns, conflict resolution, and workplace investigations.
- Support managers in addressing performance issues, disciplinary actions, and terminations while ensuring compliance with labor laws.
- Drive initiatives to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
- Develop and implement HR policies, ensuring consistency and fairness.
- Performance Management
- Assist in managing the performance review process, goal-setting, and employee development plans.
- Provide training and support to managers on delivering feedback and conducting performance evaluations.
- Support career development programs to foster employee growth and retention.
- Compensation & Benefits
- Support salary benchmarking and job evaluations to ensure market competitiveness.
- Assist in the administration of compensation plans, merit increases, and bonus structures.
- Manage benefits enrollment, employee inquiries, and vendor communications.
- Ensure compliance with payroll regulations and coordinate with payroll teams.
- Legal & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local labor laws, including FLSA, FMLA, EEO, and ADA requirements.
- Maintain HR records and ensure compliance with recordkeeping policies.
- Conduct HR audits to identify and mitigate risks related to employment law.
- Support compliance training programs for employees and managers.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in HR, with exposure to employee relations, performance management, compensation, and compliance.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws, regulatory requirements, and HR best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion.
- Proficiency in HR systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
- Must be able to lift and move 25-50 lbs.
