JOB DESCRIPTION: SHIPPING RECEIVING UTILITY
Reports to: Operations Manager
Direct Reports: N/A
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Summary
Packs SinterMet, LLC products and prepares shipments, receives incoming goods, and loads shipments onto trucks. Also responsible for data entry associated with shipping and receiving.
Essential Functions
- Verify and maintain records for incoming and outgoing products for shipment.
- Operate company truck to transport rolls between SinterMet, LLC facilities, vendors and customers.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, ensuring specifications are met.
- Receive incoming shipments by unpacking and routing the items.
- Operate tier-lift trucks and hand trucks to move, convey and hoist shipments from shipping/receiving to work areas.
- Communicate with shipping companies regarding damaged items, shortages, etc.
- Communicate with coworkers, management, customers, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
- Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Operations Manager.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to drive a Straight Truck up to 25,999 GVWR (CDL not required).
- Must have a minimum of six months verifiable driving experience in similar sized vehicle within the last 3 years with a safe driving record.
- Basic computer skills and ability to read a map and understand directions.
Minimum Experience and Training
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one year experience in a shipping/receiving role
- Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License and clear Motor Vehicle Records every 12 months
- Driver Medical Certification in accordance with the Federal Moto Carrier Safety Regulations

- Must be able to occasionally lift to 50lbs.
- Able to climb ladders and operate scissor lifts to work at different heights.
- Constant exposure to indoor manufacturing environment.
- Occasional driving as needed.

- Constantly stand and walk throughout the workday.
- Constant exposure to moderate noise
- Frequently reach with hands and arms; use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel material.
- Frequent repetitive motions.
- Constantly wear eye protection (Industry standard safety equipment is provided by the company, and specific notice is posted in areas where safety equipment is required).
