MEDICAL RECEPTIONIST JOB

General Purpose

We are looking to hire a Medical Receptionist with excellent organizational and administrative skills. Medical Receptionists are expected to be compassionate and discrete with superb time management and record keeping skills.

Main Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • welcome patients, vendors, pharmaceutical representatives, and other visitors to our medical office
  • register patients according to established protocols
  • assist patients in completing all necessary forms of documentation, including medical insurance
  • inform patients of medical office procedures and policy, including consents
  • maintain and manage patient records
  • move patients through appointments as scheduled
  • answer incoming phone calls, return messages in a timely fashion, delegate patient inquiries
  • transfer calls as required
  • schedule patient appointments
  • collect co-pays and payments on any previous balances
  • schedule hospital admissions, tests, and scans
  • obtain external medical reports as required by medical professionals
  • respond and comply to requests for information
  • complete other clerical duties as assigned
  • maintain stock of medical forms and office supplies
  • ensure reception area is well maintained, neat and clean
  • safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality

Education and Experience

  • high school diploma or higher
  • knowledge of basic medical terminology
  • computer proficient in MS Word, MS Office, Excel and have a willingness to learn eClinical works
  • knowledge of general administrative and clerical procedures
  • working knowledge of healthcare insurance preferred

  • confidentiality -able to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
