MEDICAL RECEPTIONIST JOB
General Purpose
We are looking to hire a Medical Receptionist with excellent organizational and administrative skills. Medical Receptionists are expected to be compassionate and discrete with superb time management and record keeping skills.
Main Job Duties and Responsibilities
- welcome patients, vendors, pharmaceutical representatives, and other visitors to our medical office
- register patients according to established protocols
- assist patients in completing all necessary forms of documentation, including medical insurance
- inform patients of medical office procedures and policy, including consents
- maintain and manage patient records
- move patients through appointments as scheduled
- answer incoming phone calls, return messages in a timely fashion, delegate patient inquiries
- transfer calls as required
- schedule patient appointments
- collect co-pays and payments on any previous balances
- schedule hospital admissions, tests, and scans
- obtain external medical reports as required by medical professionals
- respond and comply to requests for information
- complete other clerical duties as assigned
- maintain stock of medical forms and office supplies
- ensure reception area is well maintained, neat and clean
- safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality
Education and Experience
- high school diploma or higher
- knowledge of basic medical terminology
- computer proficient in MS Word, MS Office, Excel and have a willingness to learn eClinical works
- knowledge of general administrative and clerical procedures
- working knowledge of healthcare insurance preferred

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
