REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, counseling, social work, or related field required. Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) preferred. Knowledge of strategies to manage behavior. Experience in a behavioral treatment facility may be considered in lieu of a degree. May be required to physically manage students, exerting up to 50 pounds of force. Experience with behavior management. Computer competency in word processing, data bases and spreadsheets.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES
Behavior Support Specialists will collaborate with district staff and families to create supportive and inclusive learning environments for students with challenging behaviors during Extended School Year (ESY) services. They will conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA), implement individualized behavior support plans, and work directly with students in 1:1 and small group settings to reinforce behavioral goals. Behavior Support Specialists will also assist teams in managing unexpected behaviors, monitor student progress, and model positive behavior interventions to support a safe and effective learning environment.
PAY INFORMATION
Pay Day: Last working day of each month.
HOURS & FTE
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday - 8:00 am to 11:30 am
June 17th - 19th, plus June 16th as a work day
June 24th - 26th
Off the week of July 4th
July 8th - 10th
July 15th - 17th
July 22nd - 24th
