Pay: $20
Hours: Monday – Thursday 7:30am-5pm and Friday 8am-12pm as needed
Responsibilities
- Provide a warm greeting and escort patients of all ages to the appropriate operatory
- Prepare instrument cassettes and set up materials for the procedures to be performed
- Perform sterilization of contaminated dental instruments after appropriate training and follow standards of infection control protocol
- Make accurate alginate impressions which are to be poured into diagnostic models
- Make accurate and clear dental images including but not limited to: bitewings, periapicals, panoramic x-rays, CBCT, and intraoral photographs
- Assisting procedures that include but are not limited to: fixed and removable prosthodontics, esthetic and non-esthetic direct restorations, oral surgery, & endodontics.
- Provide assistance, when necessary, to other members of the dental team
- The ability to briefly explain dental procedures and answer basic questions about treatment planning to the patient
- Assist office personnel in times of patient health emergencies
- Willingness to learn new technologies (impression scanning, digital restoration design, etc.)
- Stay on task during and in between appointments
- Our office highly values a passion and willingness to learn on the job
- Dental assistants are highly encouraged to participate in continuing education courses with dentists and the team
- Knowledge of Dental Software is a plus but not required
Education or Prior Experience
- Completion of an ADAA dental assistance program
- 2 years chairside experience
- Demonstrated willingness to actively learn and undergo training may serve as substitution for previous experience
