Position Summary
The Development & Administrative Coordinator plays an essential role in advancing the
mission of the Sioux Falls Family YMCA by providing high-level support across development
and administrative functions. This individual will assist the Development Director in
cultivating and stewarding donor relationships, maintain accurate records in Bloomerang,
manage board communications, and ensure smooth office operations. The role also involves
creating digital communications, managing the website and social media, and drafting
promotional materials. The ideal candidate is highly organized, self-driven, and capable of
working independently.
Key Responsibilities
Development Support (70%)
- Support the Development Director with donor cultivation and stewardship efforts,
- including scheduling appointments, prioritizing follow-ups, and managing donor
- communication.
- Maintain and update donor and fundraising records using Bloomerang.
- Assist with planning and executing fundraising campaigns and special events.
- Prepare donor communications, thank-you letters, and recognition materials.
- Develop and distribute email newsletters, donor updates, and other digital
- communications.
- Maintain and update the organization's website and social media platforms.
- Draft press releases and marketing materials for programs and events.
Administrative Support (30%)
- Provide administrative assistance to the CEO and Development Director.
- Prepare agendas and take minutes for board and committee meetings.
- Order and maintain office supplies and coordinate office maintenance with the
- Maintenance Manager.
- Order meals and coordinate logistics for internal meetings and board gatherings.
- Support coordination and staffing of special events, including the annual Tri-State Basketball Tournament.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit management, communications,
- business administration, or a related field.
- 2 years of experience in administrative or development roles preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, donor management platforms (Bloomerang preferred),
- and digital communication tools (e.g., Constant Contact, Canva).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Self-driven, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work occasional evenings/weekends for special events (e.g., Tri-State
- Basketball Tournament).
- Enthusiastic about the mission and programs of the Sioux Falls Family YMCA.
Compensation
Pay Range: $20.00 – $24.00/hour, based on experience and qualifications.
Full-time (40 hours/week), non-exempt position.
