POSITION SUMMARY:
We are looking for a dedicated and supportive K-5 Summer Program Site Assistants at Pettigrew, Oscar Howe and Hayward Elementary School's to work alongside the Classroom Lead and Classroom Instructor in a designated classroom. The Site Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe, structured, and engaging environment for students. This individual will assist with behavior management, field trip supervision, and classroom activities while also stepping in to cover breaks as needed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the Classroom Lead and Instructor in implementing daily lessons and activities.
- Assist with behavior management, using positive reinforcement and redirection strategies.
- Ensure the safety and supervision of all children at all times.
- Help facilitate transitions between activities, ensuring the schedule runs smoothly.
- Provide support during field trips, including preparing children, ensuring safety, and assisting with supervision.
- Step in to cover staff breaks to maintain consistency in the classroom.
- Encourage participation and foster a positive, inclusive environment for all students.
- Help with classroom organization, setup, and cleanup to maintain a structured learning space.
- Communicate effectively with staff members to ensure smooth program operations.
- Model professionalism and enthusiasm, setting a positive example for students.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working with children in a school, camp, or childcare setting is preferred.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to assist in managing student behaviors and reinforcing positive expectations.
- Comfortable supporting field trip activities and ensuring child safety.
- Reliable, flexible, and able to step in where needed.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Schedule & Compensation:
- Works 8:30am-4pm, Monday-Friday, with a 30 minute lunch break
- Our programming runs from May 29th-August 14th. (Training dates to come prior to start of summer)
- Starting at $13 for qualified candidates
- Part-time summer work
