POSITION: 32-40 hours per week. Week day on-call about once per week. Weekend call limited to 7-10 weekends per year. Holiday call rotates.
POSITION SUMMARY: Performs high quality diagnostic radiology procedures for hospital inpatients and outpatients in accordance with established standards and policies under the general supervision of the Radiology Manager including but not limited to x-ray, fluoroscopy, surgical procedures, and computed tomography.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Required: Associate degree, graduate of a Radiologic Technology program.
License/Registration/Certification:
- Required: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
- Preferred: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Computed Tomography or Mammography certification
- Required: Iowa Department of Public Health permit to practice.
- Required: BLS certification.
Experience:
- Preferred: 1 years experience

- Ability to learn various computer programs.
- Ability to adapt to flexible work schedules.
- Must be able to work as a team and independently with minimal supervision.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Performs a variety of radiologic examinations as prescribed by physicians in accordance with the Radiology Departments policies and procedures including but not limited to x-ray, fluoroscopy, surgical procedures, and computed tomography.

- Practices radiation safety for patients, families and fellow employees.
- Prepares and administer contrast media as prescribed by the physician.
- Assures all consent forms are adequately completed and signed.
- Promotes effective working relations and work effectively as part of a team with all hospital personnel
- Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.
- Handles incoming and outgoing phone calls in a courteous and respectful manner.

- Receives and relays messages to appropriate personnel.
- Screens calls and routes to the proper person or department, giving out limited information.
- Schedules exams with the appropriate preparation instructions.
- Interprets/transcribes physician orders with appropriate CPT and ICD10 codes.
- Works a rotation of call shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.

- Response time should be no longer than 30 minutes.
- Weekend coverage includes in house coverage of the Cherokee Regional Medical Clinics weekend hours.
- Assists in training and orientation of other employees.
- Assists with training of radiology students.
- Assists in stocking department supplies.
