What are the responsibilities and job description for the Print/Bindery Equipment Operator position at Sir Speedy?
Overview:
Assist in the production of print jobs including operations of digital print equipment, bindery equipment, signage equipment, and hands on tasks as needed to ensure deadlines are met.
Primary Responsibility:
Produce jobs using various pieces of equipment and performing hands on tasks as needed.
Schedule jobs by due dates indicated or as requested by management.
Call for maintenance when necessary and notify management.
Operate all equipment in accordance with operating procedures.
Perform maintenance per the guidelines on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.
Communicate with the other employees for a complete understanding of the order.
Keep production area clean and organized.
Perform troubleshooting with the equipment when necessary.
Order and stock inventory and supplies per the direction of management.
Other Responsibilities:
Reject poor quality or incorrect jobs and notify management.
Finish jobs as needed to according to the work order when appropriate.
Assist with job packaging as needed.
Comply with all OSHA safety requirements.
Follow systems and procedures.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience:
The ability to follow instruction and work with your hands. On the job training is available.
Working Environment:
Exposure to ink and chemical fumes, and airborne particles such as paper dust and drying powder.
Frequent lifting of as much as 50 pounds.
Standing for as long as an entire shift.
Noise can be loud sporadically.
Subject to frequent priority changes where a fast-pace and short notice occur regularly.
