Job Title: Lead Appliance Repair Technician
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Lead Appliance Repair Technician to join our team, with a strong focus on delivering an exceptional customer experience. This position will involve overseeing the repair and maintenance of appliances, including refrigerators, gas ranges, washers, and more. As the lead technician, you will play a pivotal role in not only ensuring high-quality repairs but also maintaining strong customer relationships and guiding a team of technicians in providing unparalleled service.
We are looking for a candidate with substantial repair and maintenance experience, ideally in high-end appliances like Monogram, Thermador, Bosch, and Sub-Zero. However, if you have a strong mechanical background and are eager to learn, we are happy to provide specialized training. Sealed System Certification is required, 07D is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and Supervise: Oversee and assist in the repair of appliances, ensuring that all technicians are adhering to company standards for quality and customer satisfaction.
- Expert Diagnostics: Use advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to accurately identify issues and develop efficient repair plans, maintaining a high first-time fix rate.
- Customer Experience Focus: Be a customer advocate, taking the time to thoroughly explain the repair process, offer tips for appliance care, and address any questions or concerns. Build trust with each customer to foster long-term relationships.
- Coaching & Training: Mentor and train junior technicians on best practices for both technical repairs and customer service, helping them to elevate their skills and enhance the customer experience.
- Manage Service Calls: Drive the company-provided vehicle to customer homes, ensuring timely arrival, well-stocked parts, and effective execution of repairs.
- Professionalism & Communication: Maintain a polished and professional appearance while communicating clearly with both customers and team members. Ensure each service call is conducted with the highest level of professionalism and respect for the customer’s home and property.
- Continuous Improvement: Regularly assess and improve processes, identifying opportunities to streamline operations and enhance customer satisfaction.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Extensive Repair Experience: Proven experience in appliance repair. Background in electrical wiring, troubleshooting, and mechanical disciplines is required. Seal System Certification and experience is required. 07D electrical license is highly preferred.
- Leadership Abilities: Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and support a team of technicians. Passionate about developing others and creating a positive work environment.
- Customer-Centric: A strong passion for customer service and problem-solving, ensuring that every interaction leaves the customer with a positive experience and trust in our service.
- Excellent Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues in simple terms.
- Technical Savvy: Comfortable using digital tools and technology to diagnose, track, and document repairs. Familiarity with computer-based repair systems is a plus.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 60 lbs, push 100 lbs, and pull 50 lbs. Must be comfortable with physical tasks associated with appliance repair.
