Job Description

This role is for definition and execution of design verification test requirements and procedures.

This person will need to be able to work from the device subsystems level and up to system level.

They will own some areas of design verification for prototypes leading up to shipping products.

We're looking for engineers with experience in design verification for systems that involve both hardware and software, working with feedback loops from various subsystems, and capturing and analyzing data.

They will be working collaboratively with system module teams on test protocol and alignment of metrics from the teams.

They will help define the overall test strategy, evaluate equipment and qualification processes, and lead integration of test systems into our existing data management networks.

This role is fora person who has an understanding of both firmware and hardware at system level.

They must have abilities in both areas so when issues are found they can dive in and determine where the issue is.

If firmware they must be able to work with the DVE firmware expert to drive down into the code and explain to the owner of the code what the issue is and what the recommended fix is. If the issue is hardware, they must be able to understand where in the circuit the issue is and work with the DVE hardware expert for that area to drive understanding of the issue so the DVE hardware expert can communicate a recommendation with the owner of the circuit design. While they need to have skills in both hardware and firmware, we should also weigh strength in test design and automation development. Since we are looking for a mix of firmware and hardware skills, we do not expect the candidate to be at the level of a 20-year firmware developer or hardware designer. The candidates need to demonstrate an XFN oriented personality.

Minimum qualifications. Design verification experience for embedded systems Experience in developing complex hardware/software test solutions utilizing internal and generic tools. Experience with scripting language Python.

Responsibilities

• Validation of test firmware/software releases, including repeatability testing, and coordinate SW quality metrics.

Troubleshoot and debug test systems and automation solutions from a software and hardware perspective in full autonomy.

Preferred qualifications.

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, ideally Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with experience as a test engineer in high volume consumer electronics or related field.

Experience with camera, sensor, LED or display testing and calibration.
