Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-oriented Desktop Support Technician to join our IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users, ensuring that their desktop environments are functioning efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of various operating systems, networking concepts, and excellent customer service skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide first-level support for desktop hardware and software issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve user problems related to VPN connectivity, operating systems, and mobile devices.
- Assist in the configuration and maintenance of user accounts in Active Directory.
- Analyze and resolve DNS issues affecting user connectivity.
- Utilize ServiceNow for ticket management, ensuring timely updates and resolutions.
- Support both Windows and Mac OS environments, providing guidance to users as needed.
- Maintain documentation of support processes and solutions for future reference.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to improve service delivery and user experience.
Skills
- Proficiency in troubleshooting VPN connections and configurations.
- Strong knowledge of various operating systems including Windows, Linux, and Mac OS.
- Experience with mobile device management and support.
- Familiarity with Active Directory for user account management.
- Understanding of DNS principles and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to analyze technical issues effectively and provide clear solutions.
- Experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users.
