A very senior (10-15 Years) Architect with extensive experience in Cloud Strategy and Cloud/Digital Transformation. Candidates must have experience with Current state to Future state of application and Database technology as well as Strong knowledge in MS tech - C#, SQL but also React for UI. Candidates must have recent experience in Capital Markets/Trading technology and an excellent understanding of the business. CANDIDATES MUST HAVE EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION SKILLS AND FACE STAKEHOLDERS AND TRADERS.

**Candidates must have Long Projects/Good Tenure, Excellent communication skills and a State issued ID (Not Bills) showing they are Local.

Required Location: Hybrid/Midtown New York City 3 days a week.

Job Overview

Oaktree Capital Advisors is seeking a seasoned Technology Architecture Consultant to evaluate its existing technology stack and provide strategic recommendations to enhance its architecture. The consultant will focus on optimizing AWS cloud infrastructure, databases (SQL Server), data workflows for trading systems, and React-based front-end systems. This role requires a deep understanding of financial technology, trading workflows, and modern cloud and data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture Assessment and Recommendations

• Conduct a comprehensive review of Oaktree's current technology architecture, focusing on AWS infrastructure, SQL Server databases, data pipelines, and front-end systems.
• Analyze the effectiveness of current workflows and integrations supporting trading and investment activities.
• Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement in performance, scalability, and security.

Strategic Planning and Roadmap Development

• Develop a clear, actionable roadmap to modernize and optimize the technology architecture.
• Recommend best practices for cloud infrastructure on AWS, including cost optimization, resilience, and security.
• Propose solutions to enhance database performance, data integrity, and data workflows for trading operations.

Technical Advisory

• Advise on the design and implementation of React-based front-end systems, ensuring seamless integration with back-end workflows.
• Provide recommendations for data visualization, user interface optimization, and front-end performance enhancements.
• Suggest workflow automation and data integration strategies to support trading and investment teams.

Collaboration and Documentation

• Work closely with IT leadership, trading teams, and developers to understand business needs and align technology solutions with strategic goals.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations summarizing findings, recommendations, and next steps.
• Provide ongoing support and advisory during the implementation of approved recommendations.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

• 10 years of experience in technology architecture, with a focus on cloud infrastructure, databases, and trading systems.
• Expertise in AWS cloud services, including architecture design, cost optimization, and security.
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server, database design, and performance tuning.
• Experience with data workflows, trading systems, and financial technology solutions.
• Proficiency in front-end development using React and related libraries.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working in investment management or trading environments.
• Knowledge of workflow automation tools and data integration platforms.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes).
