Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Desktop Support Technician to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional technical support to our users, ensuring that all desktop systems and related IT infrastructure are functioning optimally. This role requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting, excellent communication skills, and a strong understanding of various operating systems and software applications.
Responsibilities
- Provide IT support for desktop systems, mobile devices, and peripherals.
- Troubleshoot software issues and perform installations on Windows and Mac OS environments.
- Manage and maintain computer systems using tools such as SCCM for software deployment and updates.
- Assist users with hardware problems, including computer management and peripheral connectivity.
- Utilize Jira for tracking support tickets and managing user requests efficiently.
- Ensure the integrity of the IT infrastructure by monitoring network connectivity (TCP) and resolving issues as they arise.
- Document all support activities in detail to maintain accurate records of user interactions and resolutions.
Skills
- Proficiency in IT support with a focus on desktop support and troubleshooting.
- Experience with mobile devices, including setup and configuration.
- Strong knowledge of software troubleshooting techniques across various platforms.
- Familiarity with Mac OS operating systems is highly desirable.
- Understanding of TCP/IP networking principles to assist with connectivity issues.
- Experience with computer management tools, particularly SCCM for system updates and maintenance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with effective communication abilities to assist users effectively.
