General Summary
Responsible for performing procedures, implementing and complying with policies and procedures that ensure the accuracy of the Company’s inventory. The Inventory Coordinator I will have the responsibility for providing the vision that will drive accurate and timely inventory management and reporting. The position also coordinates with relevant personnel to establish timelines and deadlines for inventory cycle counts, perform various analyses, as well as determine and recommend corrective actions as needed.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Individual Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for the implementation and enhancement of the daily cycle count process regarding onsite inventory.
- In conjunction with manufacturing leadership, ensure proper coordination and execution of physical counts and amounts recorded.
- Conduct regular audits to identify discrepancies and ensure inventory accuracy.
- Collaborate with key functional business leaders to understand and strategically reduce excess and obsolete inventory.
- In conjunction with manufacturing leadership, develop process training materials defining "best practice" business approaches to address causes of inventory data integrity issues (count variances, negative inventory, etc.)
- Reviews and investigates all inventory adjustments to ensure process improvements are considered to eliminate adjustments.
- Assist with maintaining optimum inventory levels by participating in, and advising on departmental materials planning, handling, and storage.
- Other duties as assigned by manager.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, with additional training in inventory preferred.
- Experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of inventory and supply chain principles.
- Attention to detail
- Understanding of basic math skills including fractions and decimals
- Punctuality and attendance required
- Experience preferred in receiving and QC
- Overtime/weekend hours may be necessary.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs. (more than 50lbs., seek assistance if necessary). Extremely physical.
- Ability to analyze data and identify trends to make informed inventory management decisions.
- Ensuring accuracy in inventory records and data entry.
- Computer proficiency: Familiarity with SAGE200/MAS and Microsoft Excel.
- Efficiently managing large volumes of inventory and maintaining physical and systemic records.
- Effective communication with management, warehouse staff, and other departments regarding inventory issues.
Environment & Working Conditions
This position is generally performed indoors in an office or plant environment but may include some time in field settings. The role requires the willingness and dedication to invest the time required to get the job done, which may include working more than 40 hours per week.
