COMMISSIONING SPECIALIST - Licensed Mechanical Engineer
Location: Jacksonville, NC
Salary: $110,000 - $130,000
We are seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineering Commissioning Specialist to join our team. In this role the Commissioning Specialist will report to the Director of Commissioning and will ensure the building(s) or system(s) are designed, installed, tested, and maintained to meet the owner's requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Pre-design phase: Preliminary work, such as forming a commissioning team and developing the owner's project requirements
- Design phase: The design of the building or system
- Construction phase: The physical construction of the building or system
- Mechanical completion: The end of construction, when basic installations are confirmed and inspections are conducted
- Documentation review: Verifying that all relevant documentation, such as equipment manuals and drawings, are complete and accurate
- Equipment calibration: Checking and calibrating instruments and equipment
- Acceptance phase: Verifying that the building or system meets the design specifications
- Occupancy phase: Training building operators on how to maintain the systems
- Warranty phase: Ensuring the building or system is covered by a warranty
- Ongoing commissioning: Ensuring the building or system continues to perform as intended
Required Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB) of HVAC systems and experience in performing or managing the TAB process.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in the operations and troubleshooting of HVAC and complex electrical systems.
Extensive experience in testing and commissioning building system envelopes and envelope assemblies.
- Knowledge and experience in building operations and maintenance and experience in developing and providing systems-level training for O&M personnel.
- Experience in developing, implementing, and/or optimizing system control strategy and sequences.
- Familiar with construction practices, materials, standards, and design requirements.
- Experience completing at least five (5) mechanical Engineering commissioning projects.
- Bachelors degrees in Mechanical Engineering.
- Must be a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
- Certifications from a nationally recognized Commissioning Certification Organization.
