Job Description:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Shipper and Receiver. As a Shipper and Receiver, you will be responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accurate documentation, and maintaining inventory control. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow of goods in our organization.
Job Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming shipments and verify the contents against the accompanying documents, checking for any discrepancies or damages.
- Prepare and pack outgoing shipments, ensuring proper labeling, documentation, and compliance with shipping regulations.
- Collaborate with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments to schedule shipments and coordinate delivery logistics.
- Maintain accurate records of all shipments, including tracking information, delivery confirmations, and inventory levels.
- Perform regular inventory counts and assist with reconciling discrepancies to ensure accurate stock levels.
- Operate forklifts or other equipment to load and unload shipments, following proper safety protocols.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for quality control purposes, reporting any issues to the appropriate departments.
- Coordinate with the purchasing team to ensure timely replenishment of stock and communicate any supply shortages.
- Keep the shipping and receiving area clean, organized, and safe, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
Job Skills:
- Proven experience as a Shipper and Receiver or in a similar role, preferably in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
- Strong knowledge of shipping and receiving processes, including documentation, labeling, and compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and basic computer skills for data entry and record keeping.
- Ability to operate forklifts or other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accurate inventory control.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and carriers effectively.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required, Associate’s Degree preferred
