Join Our Team
You will be our Financial Accountant and will be responsible for preparing external and internal reporting as well as assisting with the investment accounting processes. You will report to the Financial Reporting Controller.
- Work closely with a Global Finance team on group consolidation, including review of equity pick-ups, foreign exchange translation and intercompany eliminations.
- Understanding of insurance and MGA accounting.
- Prepare supporting information and schedules for all SEC filings.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors, as necessary, with regards to both the substantive audit and controls testing associated with SOX.
- Prepare balance sheet and income statement analytics.
- Assist with regulatory filings for various legal entities.
- Collaborate with treasury and finance to prepare liquidity analyses for legal entity and group purposes.
- Collaborate with technical accounting to prepare underwriting intercompany transactions.
- Monitor, research and document new accounting standards including implications on the Company’s operations, controls and financial statements.
- Research accounting guidance and prepare accounting memos.
- Support the Company’s ESG Reporting Initiatives with the legal and risk teams.
- Assist with ad hoc accounting projects, as required.

Your skills and abilities should include:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Business
- Internationally recognized accounting designation (e.g. CPA, CA)
- Relevant experience with a (re)insurance company or a public accounting firm (big 4 experience preferred)
- Previous experience with SOX controls frameworks
- Experience with the preparation or review of US GAAP financial statements, SEC filings and local reporting requirements as needed
- Strong computer literacy skills, including advanced Microsoft Excel, Adobe and Word
- Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills plus the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management
- Self-motivated team player with a strong work ethic, analytical skills and attention to detail
- Commitment to meeting deadlines and ability to work overtime and weekends, as required
- Experience with global accounting and reporting systems such as Workday and Workiva.
SALARY: The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000 to $90,000 per year. This is a good-faith assessment of the salary range for this position only. In determining the actual salary within this range, SiriusPoint will consider a candidate’s relevant experience, location, and other job-related factors.
