What are the responsibilities and job description for the Siskiyou Early Head Start - Teacher position at Siskiyou County Office of Education?
The teacher works in partnership with parents to ensure children receive individualized child development services. Teachers are responsible for creating lesson plans, as well as setting up indoor and outdoor environments for children birth to three. They are also responsible for meeting the needs of the children throughout the daily routine, recording developmental observations, screenings, and assessments. It is essential that Head Start Performance Standards and California State Licensing requirements are upheld. Teachers attend regular trainings and must keep current on required credentials. The teacher works directly under the supervision of the Education and Disabilities Specialist. Located in Yreka, California, the Siskiyou County Office of Education provides direct educational programs for a specific student population and financial oversight of budgets of school districts in Siskiyou County. We provide many services including essential student programs and specialized resources to schools on a countywide basis. We work in partnership with other educational, governmental, and community agencies to bring needed grants and other resources to the students in Siskiyou County.
