Position Summary: Responsible for providing supportive services to residential clients, assessment for those seeking emergency services, advocacy, and referrals to community agencies.
Qualifications:
· Associate degree in human services, social work, criminal justice, or psychology and/or related experience required.
· Knowledge of domestic violence and child development is desired.
· Ability to work flexible hours: averaging 24 hours per week.
o Weekdays (M-F) 5 pm – 10 pm
o Weekends (Sat & Sun) day: 8 am – 2 pm
2 pm- 8 pm
o Back-up (Sun night – Thurs) 10 pm – 8 am
o Back-up (Fri night – Sat night) 8 pm- 8 am
o Back-up is used to relieve full-time staff on vacation, sickness, etc., however, is rarely needed.
* Experience in the human service field, preferably with women and children in a crisis situation.
* Understanding intimate partner violence and its effect on survivors and their children.
* Ability to relate in a non-judgmental, supportive basis to individuals who are experiencing a wide range of problems.
* Ability to handle emergency/crisis situations on an independent basis.
* Must have a valid South Carolina driver’s license, a vehicle to be used for work related travel and vehicle insurance.
