What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security - Part Time position at Sisters of Loretto (Loretto Motherhouse)?
INTRODUCTION AND SUMMARY:
The security-night watch position will periodically tour the campus to identify any irregularities, observe protection and fire control equipment, uphold order, and enforce regulations in regard to the premises, personnel and visitors. This position will be responsible for working with emergency vehicles that visit the grounds and monitor boilers and pumps. This position is also responsible for upholding the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensures personnel and property security and safety. This work may include but is not limited to:
- Responding to emergencies to provide necessary assistance to employees, residents and visitors;
- Following procedures for various initiatives, including fire prevention, property patrol, traffic control and accident investigations;
- Ensuring the security, safety and well-being of all personnel and visitors on the premises;
- Protecting the company's assets relative to theft, assault, fire, and other safety issues;
- Complying with all company related operational standards;
- Providing excellent customer service;
- Providing rapid response in critical situations;
- Writing detailed reports;
- Knowing when and how to enforce procedures, regulations and standards;
- Driving property grounds as assigned to check driveway outlets, securing doors, basements, elevator, storage and mechanical rooms as well as other assigned areas;
- Accompanying or guarding facility staff as they leave buildings to access their vehicles;
- Operating backhoe during winter months to load truck to spread salt onto roads, shovel snow and operate mechanical snowplow;
- Checking vehicles that enter the property;
- Completing simple maintenance tasks as assigned;
- Monitoring lights on the property and reporting any needed repairs;
- Operating “Red Alert” on security phone in case of an emergency;
- Assisting with other assigned tasks or jobs as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- The following education, skills and experience are required for this role:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is a plus;
- Flexible and adaptable to deal with changes as needed;
- Strong communication skills;
- Capable of following directions;
- Ability to plan;
- Strong organization skills;
- Attention to detail;
- Valid Driver’s license is required;
- Understanding of safety protocols and procedures;
- Able to multitask;
- Willing to work flexible schedule including weekends.
ENVIRONMENT:
This position can vary between indoor and outdoor work depending on business needs and weather changes. This position can require the ability to move through tight spaces and move across uneven terrain. This position may expose workers to heat, cold and frequent transitions between, on a regular basis.
