ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Performs general, routine custodial duties, to include dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, scrubbing floors, and restocking paper & soap supplies.
· Operates and maintains various custodial equipment (i.e. floor scrubbers, vacuums, buffers, pressure washers, ladders, basic tools; such as, hammers, screw drivers, wrenches, etc.)
· Ensures proper routine care in the use of and maintenance of equipment and supplies: promotes continued improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
· Empties trash receptacles, disposes trash into dumpsters, and bags trash for proper disposal.
· Performs cleaning functions specific to the assigned areas and/or based on seasonal/project requirements.
· May assist or perform snow removal activities and minor maintenance, such as replacing light bulbs, adjusting furniture or other similar activities.
· May provide vendors with access to areas for cleaning or repair and may answer basic questions and report issues with vendor and supervisor.
· Reports needs and concerns to appropriate staff.
Moves heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks.
· Light plumbing work including but not limited to working on toilets and faucets.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Competencies and Experience
To perform the job successfully, an individual should have the following education, competencies, and experience:
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
· Active driver’s license in good standing
· Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity and the ability to work effectively with residents, guests and staff
· Basic knowledge and use of power equipment to clean floors, furniture and outside areas
· Possesses generalized basic knowledge of the practices, and methods used in plumbing, electrical repairs and carpentry
· Demonstrated ability to follow written and oral instructions
Physical Requirements
· Lifting/pushing/pulling up to as much as 100 pounds
· Must be able to stand for long periods of time
· Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting heavy items (up to 50 lbs. unassisted) and climbing low to high heights.Must be able to work safely in an environment containing chemicals, cleaning materials, dust and noise
Visual/Audible/Sensory Requirements
· Must be able to read and distinguish small print
· Must have depth perception and be able to distinguish basic colors
· Must be able to distinguish normal sounds with some background noise
· Must be able to speak clearly and make self-understood while also understanding others using the English language

Pay: $15.75 - $17.00 per hour
