What are the responsibilities and job description for the Office Assistant/Kennel Technician position at Sit Means Sit College Station?
We are seeking an individual for the position of Office Assistant/Kennel Technician. This employee will primarily find themselves located at the front desk performing receptionist duties with an "On Call" kennel technician role throughout their shifts. In the event that the kennel technician on schedule for that day needs any assistance or calls in to work, you will assist with/take over their rolls and care for our pups!
The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills, be organized, and possess an outgoing personality. We are looking for a team player that is friendly with a positive attitude and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. Must be a self-starter and take initiative to think outside of the box. Position requires the ability to multi-task, organize, follow detailed instructions, and adapt to our fast-paced environment. Additionally, adherence to scheduled task list and cleanliness standards is required. Tech must be capable of handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments, without intimidation and fear. Tech must be in good physical condition, able to squat, stoop, bend, lift 60 pounds, and do a lot of standing and walking.
Reception-specific duties include, but not limited to:
- Plan and schedule appointments and events
- Greet and assist onsite guests
- Develop and implement organized filing systems
- Handle incoming calls and other communications
- Manage all types of daily correspondence to ensure professional, accurate and timely response and appropriate prioritization
- Anticipate, identify, analyze and solve issues/conflicts independently and discretely
- Update paperwork, maintain documents and word processing.
- Perform general office clerk duties and errands.
- Assist with checking in/out of dogs.
Kennel Technician-specific duties include, but not limited to:
- Bathing, drying, clipping nails and cleaning ears (training available).
- Feeding and monitoring of boarded pets.
- Administering medication as needed.
- General janitorial duties - cleaning up of both indoor and outdoor areas.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma.
- 1-3 years of experience as an office assistant or other related fields
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Organized and detail oriented
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently
- Have a valid driver license and reliable form of transportation.
- Must be 18 years or older
