Construction Manager - DAS Temp Project

This position is on a temporary/contract basis for 6 - 8 months, with potential to hire.

Summary:

SAI Group is looking for an experienced Construction Manager to coordinate operations and oversee DAS, Small Cell and Carrier add construction. The experienced DAS Construction Manager being sought; must possess experience managing in-building distributed antenna system installations for Cellular, WIFI and Public Safety applications. This position requires construction management abilities including communication, technical expertise, reading construction drawings, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. You will serve as the point of reference to all field workers and with the customers.

Description:

• Knowledgeable and possess understanding of Wireless Communication Systems including equipment and installation guidelines
• Conduct bid walks and prepare bid documents
• Accountable for the Scope of Work for each job
• Work with Estimating Teams to assist with competitive bidding
• Provide project schedules and updates
• Responsible for the assembly of all Bill of Material items and understand the needs of each specific job
• Work with purchasing to acquire necessary materials
• Coordinate internal crews and sub-contractors
• Experience managing union manpower
• Ensure manpower and resources are adequate for an on-time job completion and within budget
• Guarantee all safety precautions are met and maintain quality control of project
• Provide and responsible for Red-Line drawings and supportive closeout documentation

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years on the job experience or 4 years of equivalent experience in the Wireless Construction Field
• Understanding of Radio Frequency propagation and principles
• Familiar with Cable Sweep, PIM, Fiber, CW equipment as well as associated testing and interpretation of results
• Knowledge of DAS systems as well as VZW & ATT in-building requirements a plus
• Hands-on experience a plus with the ability to assist with installation of equipment, cabling, programming and testing as needed
• Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints
• Problem-solving skills and works well under pressure
• Team player with excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Strong written and oral communication ability and possesses excellent customer service as well as interpersonal skills.
• Must have valid driver’s license and good driving record
• Must value safety above all else
