Site Selection magazine, celebrated its 70th anniversary this year, is looking for a qualified Managing Editor. We are looking for someone with a personal, professional and organizational growth mindset to help lead the business journalism team at our respected global corporate location strategy and economic development publication. The position is based in the Atlanta suburb of Peachtree Corners in fast-growing Gwinnett County, Georgia, with some flexibility for a hybrid workplace schedule.
Requirements
- Three years of experience as a journalist and/or publication editor, with a preference for experience covering business and economic development;
- Superior capabilities in copy editing, data journalism, organization and production;
- Appetite for teamwork, communication, professional development and leadership;
- Flexibility and openness to work across formats: print, web, video and podcast;
- Ability to work in InDesign, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and related programs, as well as website content management systems;
- Aptitude for public speaking and engagement on social media.
Responsibilities
- Write for Site Selection’s flagship publication, newsletters, and special reports produced by publisher Conway Data’s custom content division;
- Work with the Editor in Chief and senior management to manage assignments, quality control, copy editing, print/web coordination and production flow and scheduling;
- Work closely with the research team on data quality and methodologies, the design team to develop concepts, the sales/marketing team to communicate our value in the marketplace, and the web team to enhance our online presence;
- Develop relationships with Site Selection’s growing global network of contributors;
- Travel domestically and abroad for press trips and occasional speaking engagements.
