What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Research Associate, Flow Cytometry position at Site Therapeutics?
Site Therapeutics aims to map — down to the nucleotide — the genetic determinants driving immune cell function in human health and disease. Leveraging technology developed in the Marson Lab at UCSF / Gladstone, we will conduct high-throughput functional genomics in human cells to build a blueprint for fine-tuned control of immune cell function. This detailed map will lead to the development of new therapeutics across modalities for a range of immune-related conditions. We are backed by The Column Group, a leading life sciences venture capital firm.
Our Senior Research Associate, Flow Cytometry position will be a part of our team to systematically map residues governing disease-relevant phenotypes.
The primary responsibilities of the Senior Research Associate, Flow Cytometry will be :
- Flow cytometry and fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS) of primary human cells
- Routine start-up, shut down and maintenance of our FACS sorters
- Manage inventory of FACS reagents, equipment operation, service requests and training of new users
- Culture and optimization of primary mammalian cells, including T cells
- Using molecular biology techniques on primary cells, including next generation sequencing (NGS) and gene editing techniques
- Optimization of biological and biochemical assays to screen and validate novel targets
- Development of novel protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the new company
- Close collaboration with a team of Scientists and other Research Associates to stick to tight timelines while creating a large map of genomic sites impacting immune cells
- Strong organizational and communication skills are required
