Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Job Runner to oversee and manage the daily operations of commercial electrical projects. The Job Runner will be responsible for coordinating materials, supervising electricians, ensuring project deadlines are met, and maintaining high-quality electrical installations. This role requires a strong understanding of commercial electrical systems, leadership skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the electrical scope of work on assigned commercial construction projects.
- Coordinate with project managers, foremen, and general contractors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Supervise and direct electricians and apprentices, ensuring work is completed on schedule and meets quality standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and project specifications.
- Order and track materials, tools, and equipment to keep the project moving efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with all electrical codes, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues on the job site.
- Conduct job site inspections to verify progress and address any concerns.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work completed, materials used, and crew hours.
- Communicate effectively with team members, subcontractors, and project managers.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in commercial electrical work, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership or job runner role.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in electrical work is a plus.
License/Certifications: Journeyman Electrician License preferred; OSHA 30 certification is a plus.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems and National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workloads, and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and electrical drawings.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in various conditions, including heights, confined spaces, and adverse weather.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
