Our Senior Human Resources Generalist will work out of our Northeast Division, located in Harrisburg, PA. This role will be the first point of contact for the daily functions of the HR team and will assist in employee relations; the administration of HR policies, procedures, and programs; and address recruiting and staffing needs.
Senior Human Resources Generalist Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain employee relationships at all levels of the organization, providing support and counseling on all HR matters.
- Partner with management to drive employee engagement initiatives, communication strategies, and performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and development plans.
- Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; recognition and morale; and safety.
- Lead by example to build and foster a culture in support of our company values, recommending and managing employee engagement activities and programs.
- Partner with hiring managers on hiring process, job descriptions and onboarding of new hires, act as liaison between hiring manager and Talent Acquisition partner.
- Act in collaboration with Talent Acquisition team on hiring needs, job postings, and background checks.
- Facilitate employee stay and exit interviews.
- Process employee changes and maintain electronic employee files.
- Serve as main point of contact for employees requesting leave of absence, providing guidance, and explaining the process to ensure understanding of their rights and responsibilities.
- Administer and monitor workers compensation claims by working directly with employees, managers, and worker’s compensation company to ensure compliance.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Other duties as assigned.
Senior Human Resources Generalist Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or Organizational Development; or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 4 years as an HR Generalist
- Knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, employee relations and safety.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to change priorities quickly
- Strong sense of urgency and high level of confidentiality
- Experience with HRM/HRIS software - UKG/Ultipro a plus
- Fluent in Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent organizational skills
